It's Been a While

Almost two months, and I have really missed blogging, and missed visiting with those of you who haven't given up on me.

I really love writing posts, reading comments and visiting with all my favorite bloggers.

Hardly a day goes by that I don't think of something I want to blog about and I have taken hundreds of pictures hoping to post them.

But life has a way of interfering with our best intentions sometimes. It's been a crazy 2 months, starting with a trip to Kentucky to see my aunt (who is like my second Mom) and ending with the holiday season.

I got to spend some quality time with my aunt and she knew who I was most of the time. She passed away not long after I came home and I haven't really been the same since. It's really made me think about what is really important and how fast life is flying by.

Mr. SS has been working on a kitchen and bath remodel for our good friend MariEllen who lives in So. California. (you know, my friend who owns Aunt Fanny's Emporium...I've taken you along with me there a few times) Anyway, we have been staying at her house off  and on for the last two months.

All of sudden the holidays were here. Wasn't Thanksgiving just last week? And now Christmas has come and gone. We will spend New Years here with our friend.

I did manage to get  some sewing done for Christmas. The two youngest grands are girls and I found an old (and I do mean old) pattern of a doll and cradle to make for them. The publishing date was 1981 on the pattern and I remember making them to sell long before I dreamed of having grands to make them for.

The purple one for Brooke who is 5 and the pink one is for 3 year old Emmy.

I added "yo-yo" flowers with a button on each side.
The pattern called for eyelet trim with ribbon, but I wanted to update it a little and found this cute pleated grosgrain trim at Strawberry Patches (where else, huh?)

At one end an appliqued and embroidered heart and at the other it looks like a little bonnet.
According to Emmy, this is "Baby"

Brooke named her's Grape.

I have started quilting my Dresden Plate quilt made from Pam Kitty Morning fabric and wanted to show you a picture, but couldn't get it loaded, so will try again another day...
no, not 2 months from now, I promise, so check back.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and is looking forward to a blessed New Year as I am

I"ll be back...
and I am still believing that:

God is Good!!
Life is Good!!
