More Barn Quilts

Sunday afternoon and I should be finishing my cleaning and organizing my studio/sewing room/office. I started on Friday, but got sidetracted....imagine that.  Thought I would take a break and post the pictures of some of the other Barn Quilts I saw while in Kentucky in October. These were all in Owenton county.

These were far from the road and I don't have a camera with a powerful zoom, so be sure to click on picture to see more detail.  I love this one with the silo in the background.

Okay, I know this isn't a Barn quilt, but I'm being a little self indulgent and posting this sign at my cousins MiniMart/Gas Station.  It was so sweet of him to surprise me.
Only in Kentucky!!

Hope you had a wonderful birthday. :)

I love the barn quilts. Is this something that is done on barns throughout the country? I have traveled a lot of countryside but I either was not paying attention to the barns or it wasn't something they did around the area I traveled. They are very pretty and add a great pop of color to the barn.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a nice comment.

I love the barn quilt photos you got. I just read an article about barn quilts in Mary Jane's Farm's magazine. What a nice birthday surprise you got there. It looks like they had better gas prices too.
Blessings,
Marcia

Hi Beverly. How cute. I've never seen "barn quilts" before. I'll have to read up and see what the story is.

I see you are in the valley. I've spent a lot of time in your city visiting relatives over the years.

I'm sorry to hear you had to close your antiques booth. I've always thought that sounded like fun but knew I couldn't do it myself because I never want to let anything go!
My sister lives in Ventura and one of these days I'm going to make it to that Antiques faire!

Glad you came by,
Dawn

Your blog is beautiful! I love these old quitls on the sides of barns. I don't see too many in Ohio, but Tons in Kentucky.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment. My computer is not working all that great, but as soon as it running better, I will add you to my blog roll too!
Have a great day.
