Aunt Fanny's Emporium

On Tuesday of my Great Escape, I got to go in to work with my friend. Her shop is in Long Beach, Ca. where I grew up.  It is near Long Beach City College where both my husband and I attended, dated and decided to marry, so it is always sentimental going back there. Of course, I get sentimental over about anything.
I had forgotton how much I love helping people pick out what they want.  I even love answering the phone and checking people out.  But there were other things to do too, as we packed away some Christmas and tried to fill the empty spots.
I walked through the store and took some shots. They have lots of new merchandise amid antique displays, collectibles, and one of their big sellers, the holiday decorating items.

This is just to the right as you walk in and is only one of the cases with dishes, both new and collectible.

Just part of a little garden area.

These two pictures are of a little retro ktchen area.

A little Cottage, shabby chic area.

This shelf is just as you walk in the front door and was empty after we packed away the Christmas. MariEllen allowed me to fill it and I just walked through the store to find anything red and white and tried to make it look "Valentiney" until we unboxed the new Valentines stuff.

Also put this little black display together on a dresser right behind the red and white display. It really showed up better in person, a little dark here.

I didn't capture even a portion of the merchandise they have. Hopefully soon, they will have it all on their website I gave you in a former post. I also encouraged them to start a blog for Aunt Fanny's, so hope that happens soon too.
I have to say after 2 days on my feet, as much as I loved it, this girl is just too old to work like that. I was exhausted.
Friday, I will post about the other things we did in her home to spruce things up.

Hi Beverly! That looks like so much fun. It's neat that you got to mix a little work with pleasure. I definitely spotted those red and white polka dotted items in there. I have some of those. Sigh...love them!!

I KNOW you had fun. The perfect job. Displays and helping people find just perfect purchase. A job that lasts just a couple of days. Perfect! Great shop MariEllen! (Lots to dust) ; )

Looks like a beautiful shop! I think I see some must-haves in that retro kitchen area. I had an apartment in Long Beach for a while, it was great.

Hi Beverly! What a great store! I was wondering...I see an aqua pitcher in the retro kitchen area...looks like Fiesta ware...I think I might "need" it...oh boy, can you email me a phone number? :)

What a wonderful shop. It looks like you had a great time down in Long Beach. I wouldn't want to stand all day either. I'm not sure I'm up to that anymore either.
Blessings,
Marcia

What fun visiting Aunt Fanny's Emporium and Mari Ellen too. I think a trip to her shop is in the near future. You did a great job of displaying all her great treasures.
