In my last two houses I have had this same counter built (originally to be my baking area). But it is just perfect for my candy jars and faux desserts.
This cherry pie and these 3 cupcakes were my first faux foods. I have had them for over 10 years. They still even smell like cherries.
Don't these look delicous. My middle son Eric actually tried to take a bite of one when I first got them. I had similar ones that were real, so it was understandable.
Love these towels and I intended to make pillows out of them, but like many projects...just hasn't happened yet.
I love the look in this little guys eyes as he is lighting that giant firecracker.
I bought this jar long before they became so plentiful at my friends store in Long Beach.
Never opened it, so the candy still look fresh.
I turn it around at Christmas and put a red and green bow on it.
Two of my favorite candy jars given to me by my friend Ruth and a yummy looking little faux cherry tart.
Peppermint Salt Water Taffy in a Cookie Jar
and in a dish
I tied two red and white tea towels with a bow for color
and there you have my red, white and blue candy counter.
I know, I should have had this up last week, but sometimes I just have to do what I can when the inspiration hits.
I have wanted to join http://astrollthrulife.blogspot.com/ for sometime now for her Tabletop Tuesday Party.

For my Teddy Bears' Picnic Front Porch, Candy Counter and the Tablescape I will be doing on Thursday, I used only things I had around the house or stored in the garage. It is such a good feeling to be able to do so much with out spending money. (Opps, bought the Taffy and the Hot Tamales. The Kisses were given to me)
This tells you two things about me. One, I can make do when I have to and two, I have way too much "stuff". But oh how I love my "stuff".

I can't believe how real that faux food looks. My kids would be trying to take bites of it too, and that candy would last about a day in my house. Everyone here has a sweet tooth :-)
Everything looks so nice, and I loved the way your porch turned out.
Blessings,
Marcia
What a fabulous candy center. I LOVE all of your faux food. I think I would try to take a bite too. So real looking. All of your jars are fabulous and they look wonderful with all the candy. Love the idea. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Great fun. Hugs, Marty
Love all your cheerful and fun red, white and blue decorations! Those cupcakes do look real! Hope you had a wonderful 4th. Have a blessed day today Beverly!
I just love your candy counter and all the fab goodies!
Those cupcakes look very real to me! My hubby has such a sweet tooth, I would have to make real ones if he had all that temptation in front of him!

What yummy displays both the faux and the real stuff.
Beverly, you inspire me. I'm going to start collecting now for next year. This is when I'm glad I live in a different town so no one knows I'm copying you! LOL Love and hugs, Judy
