Pretty 'n' Pink

Just finished two cute little models for Suzanne at my favorite quilt store.
Click on her name to take you to her website for the patterns and fabrics for these cute little outfits.
This is Baby Doll Dress by MawBell
This one is Ruthie' Romper by Izzy & Ivy Designs
I wanted to show you the shirring at the top. This is a popular look for a lot of summer clothes this year. Not only for childrens tops and dresses but or big girls and mommies too.
(Again I am dating myself, but wasn't this look popular in the 60's too)
The pattern has good instructions, but you can also visit Suzanne's blog athttp://patches.typepad.com/notes_from_the_patch/2010/04/tutorial-tuesday-20-shirred-sundress.html for additional information.
Don' forget you can click to enlarge.

Well, that's all I've got today. I worked on a couple of other projects this week, but nothing finished (story of my life)

We are off today for a weekend All-Star Softball Tournament for my 10 yr. old granddaughter Drew.
( Following in her Papaw's footsteps)
Will try to get some pictures to share.

Also taking some supplies to start my 8yr. old Lexi doing hand embroidery. It seems there is an American Girl  movie where the characters are doing embroidery with a hoop, so she wants to learn. Yeah!!!

Very cute! I do remember the gathered tops too. I had lots of those for a cool summer look! Thanks for sharing!

My mother and grandmother made lots of dresses for me as a little girl, in fact I actually remember the first time I went clothes shopping. I don't think I knew before that day that you could buy clothes in a store :-) Anyway, lots of my dresses and sunsuits had this shirring. These are so cute and far more colorful than mine were.
Blessings,
Marcia

Lexi is a girl after my own heart. I need to share in the lesson with her to hand embroidery. As usual, your model outfits are so cute. The smocking and the bow straps..so cute. Have fun this weekend....Go Drew!
