All That's Left

We lined up tables filled with it, spread it on the ground, surrounded a large tree with full boxes filled with it, put it on plywood tables made with sawhorses, leaned it against buildings, leaned it against fences.  The 10x10x5 pile you see above is all that is left of it...our "stuff".
Saturday and Sunday, we had our garage sale and everything went that had not been spoken for by family and friends. We are having a local church pick up the pile you see above
Maybe you have picked up on a couple of hints I have slipped in some recent posts. We are moving. We like to say we are becoming permanent RV'rs.
Two years ago, this month, we knew we would be making changes. We have had a family construction business for over 25 yrs. and have weathered many ups and downs in the economy. But this time  it is different and change we must.
Mr. SS has been working off and on out of town for over a year.
Our family is here, so we will set up our fifth wheel on my son's property. We also have a motor home that my husband and son have been staying in while working out of town. I will continue to go with him when I can.
Our house sold very quickly because it was a "short" sale.  Without going into a lot of detail, just let me say that even though we basically gave it away, we are feeling really good about the whole thing.
We didn't rush into this and prayed for  a long time before making this decision.
The Lord has laid plans out for us every step of our married life and we have faith this is no different.
We are trusting in him to turn this to the good for our family.
I still have pictures of my little girls room and will get it on Pink Saturday soon. Also still have my red bathroom to show you.
I am already working on a place to sew and to store all the "stuff" I need for that in both our "mobil homes" and  I'm looking forward to more time to spend with my grandkids.
Today, I am working on making the coolest diaper bag and in between packing spurts, I have a costume to make for my granddaughter for a play.
God is good!!
Life is good!!

Beverly, I love your faith and trust in where God is leading you right now. You are on a new adventure and I can't wait to read about all the blessings He is bringing your way! I'll certainly be lifting you up in prayer as you handle all the details of moving.

Hey Bev, I know from experience that life can throw some crazy punches and surprises at us. It's scary sometimes in the midst of it, trying to make the best of it. It's scary when life is different than we had expected. Reality sets in sometimes that life this side of heaven is not perfect. These are big changes and you are letting go of precious things. But I love seeing that you see them as just things. You are making wise decisions, most importantly in prayer. You inspire me to pray about our circumstances over here (There's been a bit of silence between me and my Father).

I am praying for you as you transition. But I know that God will bless your faithfulness and give you peace about each step. Keep you eyes on Him. He is the Author of our days. Live in this glorious mess of life knowing that your story, your experience, your faith brings Him glory!

Love you!

I'm glad it went so well and all your stuff has found new homes. I have a huge room here at the store that is almost always open during the day for you to spread out and use anytime you may need it. Seriously. Machines, iron anything. Just whatever you do don't stop sewing!

This is huge Beverly, and I'm very proud of how you're handling it. God has and will continue to see you through. That's not a cliche, but comes from my heart. When you're in town next, let's have a cup of tea together, with you know who (: Blessings xo

This was such an inspiring post Beverly. I love the way you've shared your faith in God. Knowing Who is in control makes all the difference in the world. I know you're going to love being closer to your grandkids too :-)
Blessings,

Beverly..I just recently learned of your home sale and for a minute, my heart broke for you. But then you said that it was a good thing and much thought and prayer had gone into your decision. You know we downsized to half the house we had and at times its not real easy but in our financial situation I am soo glad we have a little place with a little payment. Our days of big and stuff is also gone and it's ok!
My prayers for you and your sweet husband as you transition. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.. I should say I would love to have been there helping you but I might have bought something! And I need nothing! I have all I need..and that includes having YOU for my good sweet friend. Tough times make us stronger..hugs and love

Oh Beverly, I'm just now finding the time to catch up with everybody and this is the first I've read of this. I'll have to read further back to understand where it all started, but I do know one thing for sure, and that is 'If you feel God has led you to do this, then it must be right.' You wouldn't be able to have a peace about it if it weren't.

I have a friend who recently decided to live an RV life after many years of being on the road in one for 6 months a year. She said she'd go back home and it just felt like too much to deal with. She's very happy in her RV, and she can go anywhere she wants, anytime she wants. Her business is all internet based, so she isn't tied to a location. She set herself up at a permanent campground for now and she's happy as a lark.

I wish you well in your new venture into life. Keep God with you and you can't go wrong. I'll keep you in my prayers sweet friend.

You have such faith and a great positive outlook. Sometimes our paths take us where at one time or another we wouldn't consider, but then we realize it is all for the best. Thanks for your visits and comments on my blog.

Beverly, your faith is such a blessing! We went through the same thing basically last year. We "had" to start over from scratch. Thankfully we found a house to rent in our little town..and the kids stayed in their school. I cleaned houses, sewed and anything else I could find to do for next to nothing. I did however know that God,would always be there and he has blessed us and kept us going. It was just a "house".. where ever your family is, is your "home".
You have all of us and we all need to prayer for each other, because we just need it! We love you and are here for you!
All my love and prayers too,
Mecehelle

Hi Beverly,
You just never know where life is going to take us and you are not alone in this, I have many friends that have had to make life changes during this depressed time..and you are so right, we can do without "things" and live a simpler life. You have a strong loving family and a roof over your head and loved ones around. I'd say God is good.
Your biggest change looks to me that instead of living in a big cottage you will be living in a petite cottage..Or you can call it your little doll house. I think us girls can nest anywhere...
Big, Big hugs, Elizabeth

When I first started reading your post...my heart sank a little, but then you said this a good thing, so I feel better for you. So many people are going through changes right now...it's tough out there...but if we go where God leads us, we will be fine. I lost my job of 25 years last year and I was so scared, but we had faith and we are hanging in there. I'm glad you will have a place to sew and be close to the Grandkids...family is so important! Your family is in my prayers.
