Home Is Where the Heart Is

Grandbabies are sleeping and I am finally taking a few minutes away from packing to sit with a cup of coffee and look through this magazine.
It is one of the magazines that my sweet friend Gail @Victorian at Heart included in her generous giveaway that I won.
As I picked it up and read the title Somerset HOME, I was reminded of something Mr. SS has asked me every time we have moved (I am counting and don't have enough fingers and toes because the count is over 20) " Can you make this home? To which I always answer "Honey, I can make any place home."
Back to the magazine. I opened up to this page:
written by Kristen Robinson.
I am quoting from the last paragraph, words that could have come from my heart.
"For me the road to home is never farther than that which lies within our hearts.  During our life journey we carry this very special and sacred place with us each and every day. May your homes be your haven, a place of ...joy and perhaps above all a safe haven full of love."

As we are packing to leave this house behind soon, I have peace in my heart that we are taking our home with us.

Here are a few quotes that Kristen used in this article, along with the cutest little cards she made to illustrate these meaningful words.
"Home is where we fly to our deams each day" Author Unknown
"There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort" Jane Austin
"Where we love is home, home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts"
Oliver Wendel Holmes
and
my favorite

Wow....over 20 moves!! We moved 4 times in 7 years earlier in our married life and I thought that was a lot!
Beautiful sentiment about what a home is....I'm in total agreement.
Have a wonderful weekend.

I've missed you and am glad to hear things are going well. I can't wait to see what you do with your new home. Please take some before and after photos for us. I believe that everything happens for a reason and we can find good in every situation if we will just choose to look for it. Life is what we make it. Have fun in your new adventure.

What a wonderful post Beverly. When my parents moved out of my childhood home (I lived there from birth to 23) I thought it would be hard. I realized quickly that home was in the heart and my heart was filled with the love they'd poured into me all of my life.
Blessings,
Marcia

Hello sweet friend, you have been on my mind as you pack and prepare for your new adventure! We have also moved quite a bit, not as much as 20 but enough to know it is never, ever easy. Wish I were there to help but hey I will see you soon! Sending prayers for continued peace:)♥ love u

That giveaway was meant for you. That is confirmation. We have lived long enough to know that even though we love our "things" we love our family and friends more and they are what matters. Love and prayers are for you as you make this transition.

This was a timely post for me.... My daughter will be moving in the next few months and I've been talking to her about this very thing.... It really doesn't matter where she lives... she'll make it HOME. Isn't that where your family is?.....It'll be cozy and wonderful, I'm sure....just as your new place will be.

HUGGIES!
Spencer
