I've had this shiny brass table lamp since ninety something. Back then, I wanted everything shiny brass. Even though it has been outdated for forever, I love it so much that it has always found a place in whatever home we are in. So, I am painting it to put in our newly almost remodeled blue and white trailer. We have replaced the pull down couch with matching comfy Grandma and Grandpa rocking swivel rockers. The lamp will be perfect between them.
Here it is just before I got out the sandpaper and spray paint.
Here it is just before I got out the sandpaper and spray paint.
Hubby was able to take the rim off the glass table and that made it a lot easier to sand and paint.
It's glossy white and I love it.
I really makes the glass pretty, I think
Remember a couple of weeks ago I made this lampshade and did it as a tutorial here
It was made for this lamp.
Here it is finished and ready to go to it's new home.
If...Mr. SS ever finishes it. Just kidding honey. It will be ready soon.
I pulled up one of the garden chairs to just see how it fits.
Yep! Perfect for my coffee, book and sewing.
Well, may have to leave a little room for Mr. SS's coffee too.
I am once again joining Susan @ Between Naps on the porch for Metamorphosis Monday.

I used to do a country theme when in the States and had a big brass bed. Would never have thought to paint it. Great makeover. Everyone needs good lighting for crafting at night. :) Happy 1st day of August to you! Tammy
It NEVER fails to amaze me what talented people are out there ...you being one of them, and how different things look after a can of spray paint has worked them over. This lamp looks just plain, downright fantastic!
YOU are so inspiring!! :)

Very nice! Love the white and the shade so bright! Love whites and blues mixed together.
Hi Beverly,
Your lamp looks GREAT!!! I love the redo..
I made two throw pillow this weekend to match the Ohio Star quilt. I hope to have the quilt back this week from the quilters so I can work on the binding.
Have a sweet day and big hugs, Elizabeth
What a wonderful makeover...I am amazed out how much things change with a bit of paint!
I LOVE it! Beautiful.. and the garden is so pretty too! I'm off to check out your tutorial, lord knows I need all the help I can get with lamp shades :)
Have a great night!

Hi, Beverly...I love the way your lamp turned out. I have been doing a lot of looking for some similar shade fabric, but to no avail. I was especially drawn to yours because of the pale yellow stripe. It would suit my room to a "T". I'm thinking I may visit some home interior shops. I will probably have better luck. Glad you had such a good visit with your grands. Hope to see you soon.

I can just imagine that cute lamp nestled between your and Mr SS's chairs. Can't wait for the big reveal of the blue cottage on wheels.
I can't believe I missed this...wow that turned out gorgous, Beverly! It will be so nice in your cottage! great insight and talent, too!
hugs and love,
Barb
