Pinterest Try Tuesday

I know a lot of you are like me and have joined the Pinterest band wagon. I admit it. I am addicted.
It is so fun, like looking through magazines and having a place to save all those things I am interested in. Only I don't have to tear out the pages and collect notebooks of ideas.
It's all there in the computer, available to look at with a click of the mouse.
The only thing is, I'm spending so much time pinning, I never go back to look at what I have pinned.

A couple of weeks ago, though, I pinned a cute little tissue holder with thoughts of making them for my granddaughters.  I decided right then to stop and make them and just got 6 of them cut out when my friend,Suzanne posted a tutorial for making tissue holders and pinned them.

They sure looked easier than the ones I had cut out, so I  cut out 6 using her method.
So now I have 12 tissue holders made.
All because I am hooked on Pinterest.

I ran to the Dollar Tree to find some of those little packs of tissues.
8 for $1.00...now that's a bargain.
The sun was almost down when I got home, but  I got those little babies loaded up with tissues just in time to snap some pics.

This is the first one I pinned. It is perfect for the scraps I have left from making my Girlie Girl purses.
It's all folded and the only sewing you do is around the outside before it is turned.
Of course I couldn't resist the little stacked buttons, but it really doesn't need them.
You can find the tutorial for this style here

Suzanne says they are like potato chips, you know  you just can't make one.
So here is my basket of potato chips.

These are made from Suzanne' tutorial. You will find that here

Both styles were easy, fast and they don't take much fabric. Great little gift when you just wanna give something. I'm really glad I have some extras on hand.
The blogger that posted the first one, suggested making a mug rug to match, add a cup filled with tea bags or instant soup and with a tissue holder, you have a nice gift for a friend who isn't feeling well.
You can see how to make the mug rug  to match on her link too.

Okay, so there you are. I tried something I pinned. In fact two things.
I am going to try to post something once a week on Monday night for Tuesday's post.
It might be a recipe next time, a home decorating idea,a tablescape, a gardening idea, a DIY, or how about one of those great household tips I've been seeing.  Just about anything I pin on Pinterest will do. And I pin ALOT.

Won't you join me?  If you post about a Pinterest Try, come back and tell me and I'll post a link right here at the end of my post to your post.  If  I see there is any interest in this, I will try to get that linky thingy so you can link on my blog.

Oh. We're actually suppose to do something with our pins? I thought it was like magazines and cookbooks - you just stack them up and look at the pictures. = ) Great idea.

I love your tissue holders and the fabrics you selected. Weren't they fun? Told you so. I think I could just make them all day long. So fun!

I think we should have Tissue Holder Tuesday where everyone shows their piles of tissue holders. = )

Such a cute little basket of chips you have there. I am hooked on pinterest, too. I think a pinterest accomplished linky would be fun.

Proud of you for actually completing an idea you saw on Pinterest! I love all the cute fabrics. I have made recipes and used some basic ideas but to actually post every week would be a commitment. You go girl! I will look forward to seeing your ideas of pins on a weekly basis. Oh, my allergies are not good right now, is that sick enough to get a cute tissue holder with a cup of tea and one of your yummy cookies....ha just kidding! Have fun!
