Deck the Halls

Well, really just the house.  It's a little strange right  now walking from this Christmas scene to Fall and Turkeys inside the house.  I usually start inside, but hubby is working out of town and I had to get him to help with the outside.

We usually do a little more, but I only had the one day. I will add some Pointsettas later.

Love my red door. The little sign my daughter-in-law gave me says....Grandma and Grandpa, Where we still raise a little cane.  And it has a cute little Candy Cane on it. My living room and tree will be decorated in Candy Canes.

When we remodeled, I just had to have a front porch and I really love it, but we face south and to tell the truth we hardly ever use it. It is just too hot during the months you would enjoy a porch. We even installed a fan, but it doesn't help much.

Usually, my sweet hubby just goes along with whatever when I want him to help and doesn't say much about whether he likes things or not, but after dark as I was making dinner he said, "Wanna go outside with me and see how it looks with the lights on?"
Well of course I did and we both stood there looking at it like we had never seen it before. There's something about Christmas lights, that just say  "Christmas is here."
Of course we both know the real reason for the season and celebrate the birth of our Jesus Christ.

Your house looks so pretty and festive! Love your porch (whether you use it or not it is very welcoming). I thought of you today as I made my rounds at TJ Max and others looking for inspiration for my Christmas table. I did buy two cute little personal cloches at Pottery Barn. I may need to come to your house for the mini faux food to go under them. Ended up with the total opposite of what I was looking for but love it. Photos to follow. Bill put up our ice cycles yesterday so we too got a start.

Your house looks lovely, so festive and ready for the holidays! I started on some of the inside decorating today but it was too cold to work outside.
Have a wonderful week.

Hi Beverly Your house looks so Christmasy. I remember when you found the exact color of red for your door. It looks great all the time but it really makes your home welcoming at Christmas. I look forward to seeing you later tonight for dinner.

Hi Beverly,
Your home looks so pretty and festive!. I bet when all the lights are on outside it looks amazing. I have a red door too!. I think we have the same shade of red.
I know what you mean about the front porch getting to much sun, we have the same problem.
Enjoy your week and keep creating, I can't wait to see what you are working on.

Your house looks so pretty. We've put up the outdoor lights, but it still looks like Fall inside our house too. We'll get it done in the next few days. You'll have to take a photo of the outside with the lights on.
Blessings,
Marcia

Beverly, your home is just beautiful. When I drove up to your home for dinner it looked like a fairyland. There's nothing prettier than all the sparkly lights of Christmas. Your fall decor was so wonderful inside, too. You have such a beautiful collection of things. Looking forward to seeing them on your blog.

Your home is so beautiful!!! I love that little porch!

Regarding your comment...I got that little silver deer last year after Christmas at my favorite store, Vintage and Vogue. It was 1/2 off. They must have sold them all because I don't remember seeing any there this year but if I go in again I'll look for you!

Oh it looks so pretty! I love your red door and the porch. Your home and your decorations are very inviting.

I understand about taking advantage of a hubby who is in and out of town. I've been doing the same thing.
