Playing House

I'm so disappointed. I worked all day setting up my Dept. 56 Snow Village houses in my entertainment center so I could take some pictures to post here. Most of my pictures turned out blurry, but here's a couple that are okay. I just really need to make a commitment to take some photography classes. But then I would need a new camera too, so guess I'll just be happy for now with the one I have.

This one is Holiday House and one of my grandkids favorites.

This little church was one of my first and is still my favorite. The Bapistry has a music box that plays "Jesus Loves the Little Children"

Sorry the rest are too blurry. I will try again tomorrow. I only have about 15, but am not putting some out this year. At Susan's http://www.betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ she shows hers displayed on her dining table. They are so pretty, but my table isn't big enough.

What about you? Do you have a special collection you can't resist displaying every year?
I always say I put these up for my grandkids, but when all is done, I have to admit, I also do it for me.

Edited to add: Keep scrolling  to get to the comment box and the rest of my posts. I think the cyberspace gremlins got to me last night.  More likely, I goofed up somehow....

Seeing your photos makes me want to get my villages out. I've given most away - all but my few very favorite ones. One site you might find helpful for your photo editing is http://www.picnik.com/app#/home/welcome
It's free for the basic program and less than $10 a month for the fancy stuff it can do. You'll love how it can brighten up your pictures and help get things in focus.

I just love little villages like this ~ they are so charming and your display is wonderful. Makes me want to get small and stroll through! This is just a suggestion--try taking the photos when you have enough natural light in the room that you don't need to use the flash--if you have to use lamps or overhead lighting that is the second choice--just not the flash. Hope this helps.

Hi Beverly!
I have a collection of nativity scenes, from tiny child size to paper stand up ones. I enjoy the children's ones the best. My son has a collection of Nutcrackers that I usually put out but since he left for college I don't feel like getting them out this year, there are just so many. Hoping he won't notice but I'll find out soon enough! Love the villages!

Your villages always look beautiful, Beverly. You have just the perfect place to display them. It sure must take time setting up! But it's worth it. I'm looking forward to seeing all your pretty decorations. Looking forward to tomorrow for birthday lunch!

I love your villages! I put up different things every year, which means I have too much Christmas stuff, but I always try to put out certain nativity sets. I got a new (old) one this year to add to a growing collection.
Blessings,
Marcia

Hi Beverly! Your village is so sweet. I didn't take mine out this year. Mine is Dept. 56 but they are bigger and over time they have just gotten too big for my liking. I'd love the smaller ones.

About that space at the bottom -sometimes I have to just delete space that ends up at the bottom of the post when you are composing. Make sense? Hope that helps.
