Early Mother's Day

Last night during my 5 yr. old grandson's baseball game, my DIL Lialani (my middle son's wife)asked if they could take us to dinner after the game for Mother's Day, as they were going out of town to visit her Mom for Mother's Day.

She asked if this was okay?
Mmmm. Chili's. I am picturing this,

and this,

My favorite thing to order at Chili's is the bottomless Soup (gotta be Chicken Enchilada ), Salad and Chips with Salsa.
I didn't eat the chips and salsa, but everyone else at the table enjoyed them.  That soup...is the best.
I'm on Weight Watchers, so when I came home, I looked the nutrition up on the internet to see how many pts. it was... OWWWWW! Well, good thing I didn't eat lunch. It was 1/2 of my allowance for the day. But well worth it. Yum.  Good thing the salad didn't count and after all, I didn't eat the chips....right?

As if paying for our dinner wasn't enough, my granddaughter reached under the table and handed me this.

It's her new book and it isn't a cookbook. It has the most beautiful pictures of her home.  Here are a few (not good) pictures I took. Don't know if I am supposed to do that, but I am giving credit to Paula Deen's Savannah Style.
I cannot wait to have time to sit down with a cup of coffee and just browse and dream.

Well, you get the idea, anyway. Beautiful book.

I also got handmade cards from Cade and Kobi.

and one of those musical cards that played the Pointer Sisters "I Will Survive" from my Son and DIL
You know what it is like to open one of those in a busy restaurant....yep all eyes turn your way.
Oh well, the sweet sentimental notes written inside from Lialani and from Eric, were worth it.  When I opened the card a Kleenex fell out. Can you guess why?  I am a self confessed "crybaby".
My Eric, who was such a difficult teenager that I literally had to pray us both through those years, has turned into the most loving Christian father and husband who married a loving Christian woman.
Thank you, Lord,
 and

Thank you sweet family, I love you so much.
MOM

PS
Not to leave out my other two sons and their families who are equally loved, I will write about each of them some other time. Don't want to go overboard on the Mom, Grandma thing all in one post.

Beverly, Yes, you are very blessed with a wonderful family. I love all your boys and their families. I have some of their talent in my home...beautiful crown molding, a one of a kind mantle over my fireplace, a built-in TV entertainment center, etc. I am blessed just having you and your family as wonderful and dear friends. Looking forward to our next out-of-town venture.

P.S. I can't forget your sweet hubby, Dennis who came and spent a couple of hours putting the hardware in my kitchen cabinets. And then there is your unlimited talent that I could go on and on about.

Love you,
Linda

Sweet post Beverly. Yes, Eric was trying at times but boy he sure picked a terrific woman to be his wife. Lealani is the MOST loving and thoughtful person and she loves you so much. God is good and he does hear our prayers. We are both blessed to have wonderful loving daughters - they were certainly worth waiting twenty plus years for. = )
