A Few of My Favorite Things

This is the view now outside my studio door (I can see this while sitting at my sewing machine).
Saturday morning about 8:00 I looked outside my door and saw this going on:

A Picket Fence rates high among my lists of favorites. My son and five of his six (one year old Emmy sat this one out) topped the favorites list that day. It just made my heart swell to see them working so hard and having so much fun. Not sure what had more paint on them...the fences or the kids.  They painted all day on one of our warmest days yet, also painting the chicken yard fence next to the picket fence.
This is going to be their raised vegetable garden area. There is a gate and trellis going up next.
By the end of the day this is what it looked like.

Another of my favorite things is to sew...but you knew that by now. Last week I got to sew a couple more models for Strawberry Patches
this so cute little skirt is two layers of ruffles and 4 fabrics.
The pattern is the Edith Twirl Skirt by Jona Giammalva
The bag is the Tammy Tote by Late bloomer Quilts.

The patterns and fabrics are all available on line at Strawberry Patches

I don't know if I've ever said this, but I am not asked to tell you that by anyone. I just want you to know where you can find all these great patterns and fabrics I am so lucky to get to work with.
By the way, Suzanne is moving the store and has been putting pictures up on her blog, so you should pop over here and get a peek at what's going on. It is unbelievably wonderful.

You just got another peek again at what is developing into my Secret Garden.
I promise more this week. Just gotta get a little more done before I can show you.

I started the first of  7 Easter dresses this week and will be showing those off soon...I hope. My week is flying by.
Hope you all are enjoying Spring weather, as we are here.

I love the pictures and seeing the children working on the fence. I love picket fences too. Your items are so cute. You do beautiful work. I popped on over to the website and the blog. That new store is AMAZING. If I get down that way I am definitely going to make a point to stop in.
Hugs, Sue

What a blessing your family is and to see your grandbabies helping out is just the icing on the cake. Beautiful sewing projects. Can't wait to see more of your secret garden.

Wow. What a talented family you have. While Brandon and his five were building that incredible fence for you, the rest of your family was building an incredible store for me! I just posted some recent photos and am thinking that our local readers who have been considering a sewing room remodel (or any remodel) should get on your hubby's list. Having such a talented craftsman available is such a gift and working with him has been a blessing!

I love that the whole family participated and that the kids were allowed to paint. As my hubby would say, "it all comes out in the wash" (:
