Emmy's Dedication Dress

Mother's Day at church is always an appropriate day for baby dedications and along with several other families, Emmy's family dedicated her to the Lord. I wasn't able to get a good picture inside the church and it was so cold and windy after the service we decided to wait until after nap time at home.
Emmy's Mom and I literally chased her all over the yard trying to get a "still" picture. This girl does not stand or sit still for anything. We even bribed her with Jelly Beans. Nope she was off and running.
Finally her Papaw got her to sit here and made faces at her behind me. One "still" picture out of about twenty I took.
I was able to put the dress on "Rosie" to show off some of the detail of the Vintage linens I used. I designed this pattern several years ago to showcase some of my collection of linens. I was finally able to use it for this.
Usually I have to use a white cotton muslin to fill in, but even the linings came from the linens.
The bib is made from the valance, front and back matching.
The bottom of the skirt, using the scalloped edge of the tablecloth (no hemming...Yah!)
This crocheted detail and the bows were at each corner of the tablecloth and are the sides of the skirt.
Here is the back of the bloomers, made from the center of the table cloth.
I even have some of the valance left. I have a blog friend that is about to have her first grand baby who might get a baby bib made from that valance.
Just had to show you this, taken during our photo run shoot.
It looks like she was about to grab some chicken "poop" but she really got down there to talk to the chickens through the fence. It was about at this time, her Mom grabbed her to go change clothes or that pretty dress might have looked like...well, you know.
