Not for me!!
I have never shopped on the day after Thanksgiving.
Even before they called it Black Friday and it was just the day after Thanksgiving.
That has always been a day of sewing for me.
Sewing for a boutique or sewing Christmas presents.
This year it was sewing for my favorite shop.
You know...Strawberry Patches
Of course you will find these fabrics and pattern on the website.
I showed you the pattern and the cute "Sweet Shop" fabrics earlier in the week.
They are actually called "Dessert Party"
Here's Rosie all dressed for the party in the finished yummy little dress.
A sneak peek of the dress that the pinafore covers up.
Here's the back, with covered "candy" buttons
There was a lot of detail on this dress that makes it so cute. Those are the cutest little puffy sleeves with the contrasting binding that matches the neck binding as well as the trim at the yoke of the pinafore and the ruffle on the dress. (Whoa!! Long sentence, but you get the idea)
So...my Black Friday was very colorful.
Tell me about yours. Did you fight the crowds on Black Thursday or Friday?
Or maybe you stayed home, watched football and ate leftovers.
Or maybe you were like me and sewed or crafted.
One of the "downs" of not having to cook Thanksgiving dinner...no leftovers.
Do you want to know a dirty little secret about me?
I looooove cold stuffing and pumpkin pie for breakfast the morning after.
Alas!! We had oatmeal with raisens instead. So much better for us.
God is Good!!
Life is Good!!

The last time I shopped on Black Friday it was just called "the day after Thanksgiving" and early shopping was 8am :) Things didn't even start to get busy until after 10am, and I was done by then. I only did it once. I am not an early am shopper!
This little dress is adorable. Definitely a better way to spend the day!
Blessings,
Marcia
In college I worked at a department store and always had to work on Black Friday. What a nightmare it was! So, I just never shop on Black Friday.
I never got out of my PJ's and sewed and crafted all day while eating turkey sandwiches for lunch and a full left over Thanksgiving dinner at night. It was a perfect day!
The little dress turned out darling and I love the covered buttons! = ) I'm so glad you chose to sew instead of shop.
ok you KNOW Im dying over this dress...and the buttons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just adorable!!!!
I usually dont go out on black friday but I went with my daughter and Stella and another friend, we were shopping from 9-3....holy cow I was tired after that!!! BUT Im DONE!!!!!!!
I have never ever set foot out of the house after Thanksgiving to go shopping. The day after you will find me lounged on the couch (and still not hungry BTW :), with coffee in hand talking with hubby about how much fun we had the day before and also patting myself on the back about how clean the kitchen is. Getting the kitchen completely cleaned up is a marathon in of itself. No way do I even have the energy to go shopping.
The dress is adorable. I love how the buttons turned out. I have not set foot back in the workroom to do any projects. I am giving myself a break for the rest of the year. Come January I am going to work on some new purse designs. Oh, and clean and reorganize my workroom too. It is a disaster at the moment! Have a blessed Sunday. Hugs, Sue
Oh you had me at the "candy buttons"...such sweetness. Only shopping I did was a run to Joanne's. They had Warm and Natural at 50% off, then a coupon for 25% additional. My neighbor and I bought a WHOLE bolt to divide ( 40 yds) and we did NOT have to wait at the cutting table ( whew). Blessings to you at this holiday time. Much love my very talented friend. XXX
Oh my goodness! What a darling dress! I don't do black Friday shopping either. There is nothing that any of my family needs that would warrant me going out into that madness! Blessings!
Hi Beverly,
I love the dress and all the sweet details..I wish I was a little girl so I could wear this dresses and twirl around and around with delight!.
I was on Jury Duty stand by for Superior Court in Fresno..I was going to call you so we could meet and maybe go fabric shopping, but I was dismissed and my name was not called.
One day I will come out your way, I promise.
Big hugs and have a sweet day, Elizabeth
