Starting with the "Off"

Other than the little doll cradles, this was my first week of sewing since way before Christmas.
Today I delivered
"On" my sewing table is 3 vintage reproduction napkins.
My friend MariEllen gave them to me and challenged me to find something creative to do with them.
They are quite large and my mind has been going over all the possibilities.
The obvious being a large pillow.
But then I got to thinking more along the lines of kitchen accessories.
Frankly, at this point I can't spend any money, so I shopped my stash,
finding some fabrics, ric-rac, ribbon and of course my favorite...buttons.
The colors look a little Christmasy, but I had to work with what was on the napkins.
I will take you along as I start.
I'm thinking:
Towels
Potholders
Oven Mitt
Small Table Topper or Runner
Maybe...a Mug Rug...yes definitely a mug rug.
Oh yeah!! An apron.
Can you think of anything else?
Speaking of stash...I have a rather large stash. Fabric is one thing I can not seem to bring myself to part with.
I have tubs and tubs of it in the storeroom behind the workshop.
I love that I can go out there and almost always find just what I am looking for.
However, greens are another story. I am not a fan of green and use it sparingly. It seems to be the color I have the least of and what I have is ugly.
Oh well, I found something that would work this time.
God is Good!!
Life is Good!!

Seeing that engineers cap reminds me of the overalls you bought Jeff and Scott. They had the caps too. So cute.
I'd love to have one of your mug rugs. I'm still using my Christmas one and have to share it with a rather inquisitive kitten at times. I think you need to make a pillow too because you do them so beautifully. Also, what about a little girls dress? You'd need more fabric though. Never mind.
So glad you're home and back to blogging. We've all missed you!
I'd love to take one of your dress creations to Road in two weeks. Any ideas? Time is limited but I just think it would add so much to the booth.

Those hats are wonderful. You've been busy! It seems that every seamstress I know has a huge stash of fabric. It just goes with the territory.
I love the hats. Great to hear from you!
Long, long ago, you made the most beautiful tree shaped coasters out of a beautiful green tiny-print type material. They had tiny beans in them, I think. I saw those and was so impressed with your sewing skills. Can't imagine an ugly green; it's my second favorite color (after lavender).
Glad to see you posting again. I like to check in with your site daily. Makes me happy to see your pictures of the kids and your projects.
Hope to see you at Easter.
Love you,
Your "anonymous" niece

OOPSIE. Double clicked. Sorry.
Just love those vintage napkins -- I know you will come up with something fabulous! Hope to see you Thursday at BC.
Oops! That last comment was from me, not Doug! He probably doesn't know the difference between vintage napkins and ordinary napkins!
I hope you sent pictures of your projects to Becky for B-club. You deserve to have "tickets" for all your creations. :) Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday.
Happy Sewing!
Nancy
