Saying Goodbye....

is never easy. Our oldest grandson left today for college and last night we went to Tehachapi to tell him goodbye.  It wasn't easy for me. I thought it would be and promised not to cry...but just couldn't help myself.
Maybe it will be easier with the other nine, but this one was not.
He is just a "gentle giant" of a boy man. He gives the best "bear" hugs ever. He called last week and wanted to come spend the night...one more time. We had such a good time talking about his future and memories of times he had spent with us.

Our grandson, Cade went with us to say goodbye.
Kyle is 6'4". Makes my 5' 5"(okay 5"4" now)  seem so short..

Also got a sweet picture of Kyle's sister Madi and her Papaw...my ever so handsome Mr. SS

The good news is that Kyle is going to college on the Central California Coast in San Luis Obispo, which just happens to be close to our very favorite places on the beach to visit.
So we may just get need to visit often.

(Sorry for the lousy picture quality)

Until next time, when I promise to show you lots of the sewing I did this summer...
as always.

I know how you feel...they grow up so fast. What a wonderful time for your grandson so much for him to look forward too.
So much of life ahead.

Sending hugs, Elizabeth

It is hard to say good bye, but you will see him again - probably almost as often as you saw him when he lived at home. What a wonderful opportunity for him to see life outside of Tehachapi and experience life a bit on his own. We raise our children to let them fly, but it still hurts doesn't it?

I am in trauma because Clare is old enough to go to PRESCHOOL!!!! I guess it does NOT get any easier (G).
Wow...sounds like we might have a chance for our dream meeting in SLO??? Let me know when you are going and we just might be able to make it happen. XXXX

So nice to hear from you again! That's so sweet that he wanted to spend the night with you. He sounds like a terrific guy! I still have another year before our two granddaughters leave for college. I just don't want to think about it yet. I'll worry about that tomorrow, as Scarlet would say. Looking forward to your next post with pictures!!!

Happy Sewing!
Nancy

Oh, Beverly, I go through that every time I say goodbye to my little granddaughters. It never gets any easier. But I must say, you look absolutely svelte in that picture -- all your hard work, and passing up those desserts, has really paid off!!!

Hello my friend. What a sweet family you have ~ I can imagine how hard (and significant) it is to have a grandchild going off to college. But he won't be too far away (**. Hope you had a good summer. I worked on decluttering ~ mostly I just reorganized, but did manage to donate a whole truckload of stuff. Much to my husbands glee!

Hugs!
